Full-Time

We're looking for an Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will prepare detailed cost estimates, analyze project specifications, and collaborate with our team to ensure competitive and accurate bids. Description

What You'll Do:

Estimating and Cost Development

  • Develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects in a variety of sectors including but not limited to, healthcare, commercial, aviation, education, hospitality, industrial and manufacturing, etc.   

  • Prepare accurate and detailed quantity take-offs, bid proposals, and budgets.  

  • Partner with Field Operations Leaders to analyze project plans, specifications, requirements to assess scope and risks, refine estimates, and adjust project schedules.   

  • Utilize cost history and other resources to develop scope, pricing, schedule, logistics, etc. 

  • Partner with internal and external teams to accurately complete quantity survey or materials and resources to successfully complete the project.  

  • Collaborate with trade partners to obtain pricing and ensure cost-effective, high-quality solutions.  

  • Assist, as needed, with project operation activities, such as trade partner coordination, project documentation, and cost tracking.  

Relationship Development + Management 

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, design teams, and trade partners to assist FH in growing its brand and business.  

  • Represent FH professionally in design meetings, preconstruction reviews, interviews, and industry events.  

  • Participate in design coordination, scope reviews, and client meetings to maintain alignment on budget, schedule, and logistics.  

Continuous Improvement 

  • Collaborate with project leaders throughout the project to learn challenges and opportunities encountered to create a cost history log to inform future estimates.  

  • Continuously develop industry knowledge based on using available resources, trade journals, community groups, etc.  

  • Partner with internal teams at FH to continue to refine and improve FH’s preconstruction processes and handoff.  

Who You Are:

  • 2+ years of estimating experience for a commercial construction general contractor.

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and trade partner scopes.

  • Proficiency in estimating software.

  • Knowledge and experience on reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.

  • Ability to accurately read RFPs and develop appropriate action items and coordination.

  • Ability to put together an accurate preconstruction budget and track time against it.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multitask.

  • Prior experience estimating commercial construction projects as an Estimator, Senior Estimator, Preconstruction Manager, or Project Manager.
