Teammate Spotlight: Connie Nelson

Connie leads business operations at FH Construction Group – a role that covers people, marketing, process improvement, and technology/innovation. In short, she’s the connector across the organization, making sure as we grow, we grow with alignment, clarity, and efficiency.  

But her role at FH is just a part of who Connie is. Connie is also a wife and mom to two daughters. Connie claims motherhood has been its own leadership program – teaching her time management, patience, problem solving, and how to learn from mistakes - her kids are still her best teachers.  

Connie was also a division one collegiate golfer and golf has always been her classroom. The game has taught her lessons she still uses every day: how to handle failure, push through challenges, enjoy the wins, and learn from the misses.  

At her core, Connie believes people are the heart of any successful business. Her focus is on making life easier for her teammates – simplifying processes, bringing clarity, and being someone people can trust to ‘figure it out.’ For her, it’s about creating an environment where great people can do great work and enjoy doing it.
